Lower Exhaust (Optional on Some Models):
- For easier installation, lower the exhaust by removing the (2) bolts from each exhaust hanger using a 12 mm socket (4 bolts total, 2 per hanger).
- Support the exhaust with a bungee cord before removing the bolts.

Clean Weldnuts:
- Remove the stickers covering the (2) weldnuts on the side of each frame rail.
- Use an M12 x 1.25 tap to clean the weldnuts as necessary.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, sliding the brackets above the exhaust pipe.
- Align the bracket holes to the frame rail weldnuts and loosely install the provided M12 bolts and conical washers.
- On the passenger side, use an 18 mm crowfoot wrench due to narrow space around the frame rail.

Torque Bolts:
- Tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N*m) using a torque wrench with an 18 mm socket.

Raise Exhaust:
- Reattach the exhaust to the hangers using the bolts removed earlier.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the rear hatch and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, privacy screen, storage covers, and floor covering.
- Open the rear doors and fold the rear seats forward.

Remove Rear Interior Panels:
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides.
- Remove the necessary trim panel fasteners to access the taillight wiring harness.
- Carefully set aside all removed items to avoid damage.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring harness connectors.

- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the grounding area.

- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-One® T-Connector box on the driver’s side.
- Attach the provided black wire and route it along the vehicle’s exterior frame to the engine compartment, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, and pinch points.

- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

- Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way location and mount the black box module using the provided double-sided tape.

- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
- When in use, pull the 4-flat connector through the door and close carefully, avoiding pinching the harness in the door latch.
