Installation Instructions for 2020-Current Jeep Gladiator

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Factory Fasteners:

   • Locate the factory M14 fasteners that secure the rear crossmember to the underside of the frame and remove them.

2. Install Fasteners:

   • Insert the coiled end of the supplied pull wire into the slot in the frame and out through the access hole in the frame.
   • Thread the coiled end of the pull wire through the hole in the supplied 1” x 3” spacer block and onto the carriage bolt.
   • Pull the fasteners through the frame and leave the pull wire attached.
   • Repeat this process on the other frame rail.

3. Install Spacer:

   • Feed the pull wire through the 3/16-inch thick spacer.
   • Ensure that carriage bolts are not pushed into the frame.

4. Install Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position, aligning the hitch attachment holes with the rearmost weldnuts in the frame rail.
   • Ensure the hitch fits between the rear crossmember brackets.
   • Feed pull wires through the attachment holes in the hitch brackets.
   • Reinstall and hand-tighten the factory M14 fasteners.

   Note: Use a second person or a jack to steady the hitch while lifting it into position and holding it until all bolts are installed.

5. Install Nut and Washer:

   • Use the provided conical washers to hold the carriage bolts in place.
   • Remove the pull wires and attach the hex nuts. Hand-tighten on both sides.

6. Torque Fasteners:

   • Tighten all M14 fasteners to 115 lb-ft (156 Nm).
   • Tighten all ½-inch fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 Nm).

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator

Step-by-Step Instructions:

For Jeep Wrangler:

1. Access Taillight Bolts:

   • Open the rear door to access the rear bolt holding the taillight.
   • Remove the small square access cover located on the trim panel below the side windows using a trim panel remover to expose the white bolt.

2. Remove Taillight Assemblies:

   • Using a 10mm socket, remove the white bolt holding the taillight in place.
   • Carefully pull the taillight away from the vehicle to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
   • Repeat the process for the passenger side.

For Jeep Gladiator:

1. Access Taillight Bolts:
   • Open the rear tailgate to access the bolts securing the taillights.
   • Remove the two bolts and carefully pull the taillight housings rearward, being cautious not to break the alignment tabs.

For All Vehicles:

1. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness. The harness will have a connection point matching the ends of the T-One® Connector.
   • Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs. Ensure all connectors are clean.

2. Connect Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place. Ensure connectors are fully inserted.

3. Route the Harness:

   • Route the harness containing the green wire and 4-flat connector down the opening behind the driver-side taillight.
   • Route the green wire underneath the vehicle and up through the opening behind the passenger-side taillight.

   Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

4. Connect Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the passenger side.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector on the driver’s side.
   • Clean the surface of dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling.

6. Connect the Power Wire:

   • On the driver’s side, locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-One® Connector box.
   • Attach the provided black wire and route it along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding hot pipes and sharp edges.

7. Connect to the Battery:

   • Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
   • Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
   • Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

   Warning: Follow all warnings on the tow vehicle’s battery.

8. Reconnect the Battery and Test:

   • Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
   • Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

9. Mount the Black Box Module:

   • Locate a flat surface and mount the black box module to prevent damage or rattling.

10. Secure the Wiring Harness:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-One® Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reinstall Taillight Assemblies:

    • Reinstall the taillight assemblies and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Route the 4-flat harness to the center of the vehicle and mount it in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).

Step-by-Step Instructions:

For All Vehicles:

1. Access Taillight Bolts:

   • Open the rear door (or tailgate) to access the bolts holding the taillights in place.
   • Remove the access covers on the trim panels (if applicable) using a trim panel remover to expose the bolts.

2. Remove Taillight Assemblies:

   • Using the appropriate socket, remove the bolts holding the taillight in place.
   • Carefully pull the taillight away from the vehicle to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
   • Repeat the process for both sides of the vehicle.

3. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness. The harness will have a connection point matching the ends of the T-One® Connector.
