Installation Instructions for Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan

- Tighten all T20 Torx screws to 1.1 lb-ft (1.5 N·m)
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Interior Components:
- Open liftgate and remove rear cargo flooring.
- Use a trim panel tool to unclip and remove the scuff plate, then disconnect the electrical plug beneath it.
- Remove two 10mm nuts from the recessed bumper fascia studs under the scuff plate.
- Remove four fastening rings (two on each side) using a T30 socket.
- Detach the side rails on both sides.
- Remove the driver-side interior panel, spare tire air compressor, and Styrofoam platform.

Detach Passenger Side Components:
- Remove the passenger-side interior panel and lower fuse box with a 10mm socket.
- Remove 10mm nuts from the bumper fascia studs inside the compartment.

Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Remove four Torx screws from each wheel well and two screws from underneath the vehicle attaching the fascia to the trunk pan.
- Carefully pull off the bumper fascia, starting at the wheel wells. Unplug all electrical connections (lights and sensors) from the fascia.
- Remove and safely store the entire wire harness from behind the bumper fascia.

Remove and Replace Rear Retainer Brackets:
- Use a 16mm socket and a 6” extension to remove two 10mm bolts from each rear retainer bracket.
- Remove and discard the aluminum bumper, then insert the hitch brackets into the sleeves previously occupied by the aluminum bumper.
- Align the hitch bracket slots with the retainer bracket holes and reinstall using existing vehicle fasteners. Torque bolts to 44 lb-ft (60 N·m).

Trim Fascia:
- Mark and cut a rectangle measuring 6 1/4" tall by 3 3/4" wide at the centerline of the fascia for hitch clearance. Ensure accuracy to avoid damaging the fascia.

Reinstall Components:
- Reverse the steps above to reinstall the fascia, wire harness, and all removed components. Ensure all fasteners are torqued to the specified values.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly check all fasteners to ensure the hitch remains secure.
- Plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Wear safety glasses and follow precautions when working under the vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
