Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Sonice Sedan and Sonic Hatch

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Sedan Models:
- Open the trunk and remove the threshold panel.
- Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Hatchback Models:
- Open the rear hatch and remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to access the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Access the Vehicle’s Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Locate the connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter behind each vehicle taillight housing.
- On the driver’s side, disconnect the vehicle’s wiring connectors, being careful not to break the locking tabs.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger side, connecting the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connectors on the driver’s side.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Connect the Grey 12-Pin Connector:
- Locate the T-Connector’s grey 12-pin connector and insert it into the mating connector on the black box module.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and fully inserted with locking tabs secure.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Find a flat, moisture-free surface inside the vehicle to mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Ensure the box is positioned to prevent exposure to direct water or liquid contact.
Warning:
- The black box module must be mounted inside the vehicle. Mounting it on exterior surfaces or areas exposed to elements may cause serious damage.

Connect the Black Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire from the T-Connector black box to the provided black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle frame or follow existing wiring to the engine compartment up to the battery.
Warning:
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
- Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Test the Installation:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the T-Connector installation with a test light or trailer.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all panels, carpet, and any clips removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
Safety Notes:
- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the towing manufacturer’s rating or the specified maximum circuit ratings.
