Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Mazda 6

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the threshold panel.
- Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Behind the taillights, locate the connection points matching the T-Connector ends.
- On the driver’s side, attach the T-Connectors containing the yellow and red wires to the vehicle’s taillight harness.
- Ensure all connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
- Connect the green wire T-Connector to the passenger-side taillight connectors.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the driver-side connector.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire and the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds to the engine compartment and battery.
Warning:
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks to prevent wire damage.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal and connect the black wire to the fuse holder with a yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the system with a test light or trailer to verify installation.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface to mount the T-Connector’s black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness.
- Avoid areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace the carpet, trim panels, and any other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.

- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 5.6 amps
