Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Prius
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- 1/4” Socket
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Locate the Wiring Harness:
- On both driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness.
- Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side, behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger-side connector.

Route the Red Wire:
- Locate the rubber grommet in the trunk area under the floor covering.
- Unseat the grommet and route the connector with the red wire through the hole to the underside of the vehicle.

Connect the Red Wire:
- Underneath the vehicle, locate the black two-pin connector on the driver’s side.
- Separate the connector and insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the red wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.

Seal the Grommet:
- Slit the grommet with a utility knife, place the red wire in the slit, and reseat the grommet.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring into the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wire.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks.

Connect to the Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface and mount the black box module to prevent damage or rattling.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace the carpet and any clips or panels removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
