Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Kia Soul

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Rear Lift Gate:
- Remove four screws on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
- Carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle, ensuring not to damage the alignment pins.

Disconnect the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness on both sides.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness containing the green wire and 4-flat down the opening behind the taillight on the driver’s side.
- Route the green wire harness underneath the vehicle and up through the opening behind the passenger’s side taillight.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors and lock it into place.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-One® Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, or pinch points.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.

Mount the T-One® Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way location and mount the black box module using the provided double-sided tape.

Secure the Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-One® Connector harness, avoiding areas where it could pinch, cut, or melt.

Reinstall the Taillights:
- Reinstall the taillight housing assemblies, positioning the vehicle wiring harness between the housing and the vehicle body.

Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Mount the 4-flat connector in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
