Specifications:

• Max Gross Trailer Weight: 2,000 lb. (908 kg)

• Note: Do not exceed the towing vehicle manufacturer’s rating.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower Exhaust:

   • Remove two (2) rubber isolators on single exhaust models and four (4) rubber isolators on dual exhaust models.
   • Use lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rods and rubber isolators for easier removal.

2. Remove Heat Shield and Underbody Panel:

   • Detach heat shield(s) and underbody panel (if present). Save the panel and fasteners for reinstallation.

3. Prepare Access Hole:

   • Verify if the spacer and carriage bolt fit through the access hole. If not, enlarge the hole using a file or by prying with a wrench.
   • Enlarge only enough to accommodate the hardware.

4. Feed Bolts and Spacers:

   • Using the provided pull wires, guide spacers and carriage bolts into position through the access hole.
   • Leave the pull wire attached. For easier insertion, do not engage the bolt and spacer while feeding them into the frame.

5. Install U-Bolt on Tow Hook:

   • Hang the U-bolt onto the tow hook in one of the two designated positions.

6. Position Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position with the U-bolt in place and feed the pull wires through the side arm holes.

7. Attach Fasteners:

   • Secure the hitch using conical washers and hex nuts. Avoid pushing the fasteners back into the frame rails.

8. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Torque all 3/8” GR5 fasteners to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N*M).
   • Torque all 7/16” GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).

9. Trim Underbody Panel (if needed):

   • Obtain vehicle owner’s approval before trimming the panel. Follow the dimensions shown in the diagram for trimming.
   • Slide the hitch bracket through the cut-out region of the panel.

10. Reinstall Components:

    • Raise the underbody panel into position and reinstall fasteners.
    • Reattach heat shield(s) and trim minimally around new fasteners if necessary.
    • Reattach exhaust. For additional clearance, bend the exhaust hanger bracket downward.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Honda Fit, Honda Civic 4 Door, Honda Accord Sedan and Mazda 3

Part Numbers:

Tools Required:

• Phillips head screwdriver
• Trim panel remover
• Drill with 3/32” drill bit
• 1/4” socket

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Access the Rear Cargo Area:

   • Open the trunk or hatch and locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area.
   • Remove the plastic threshold cover, side access panels, carpet panels, and cargo trays as needed.
   • Locate the connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter on the back of each taillight housing.
   • Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring no damage to the locking tabs. Clean all surfaces to remove dirt.

   Note for 2007-2008 Honda Fit:

   • Use the vehicle’s blue 3-pin housing, NOT the green 3-pin housing.

2. Connect the Driver’s Side T-Connector:

   • Attach the T-Connector ends containing the yellow, brown, and red wires to the driver’s side taillight wiring.
   • Ensure connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

3. Route to the Passenger Side:

   • Route the T-Connector end containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
   • Repeat step 2 for the passenger’s side using the green wire.

4. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
   • If needed, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed. Clean the grounding surface to remove dirt and rustproofing.

   Caution:

   • Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
   • Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

5. Reinstall Trim and Panels:

   • Replace all removed plastic trim panels, the threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items.
   • Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires during reassembly.

6. Test the Installation:

   • Verify all connections are complete for proper functionality.
   • Use a test light or trailer to confirm the T-Connector is working properly.

7. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

   • When not in use, store the 4-flat connector in the trunk or hatch area.

   Specifications:

   • Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
   • Max. tail lights: (5 amps)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Access the Rear Cargo Area:

   • Open the trunk or hatch and remove any plastic threshold covers, side access panels, carpet panels, or cargo trays as needed.
   • Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring connectors behind the trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
   • Carefully disconnect the vehicle’s wiring connectors, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.
   • Clean the connectors to remove dirt or debris.

   Note for 2007-2008 Honda Fit:

   • Use the blue 3-pin housing for the connection, NOT the green 3-pin housing.

2. Install the Driver’s Side T-Connector:

   • Connect the T-Connector with the yellow, brown, and red wires to the driver’s side taillight wiring harness.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

3. Route the T-Connector to the Passenger Side:

   • Route the T-Connector end with the green wire underneath the threshold cover to the passenger’s side.
   • Repeat Step 2 on the passenger’s side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Reinstall the Trim Panels:

6. Test the Installation:

   • Use a test light or trailer to confirm that the T-Connector is working properly.
   • Verify the functionality of the following:
     • Left Turn Signal
     • Right Turn Signal
     • Brake Lights
     • Running Lights

7. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

   • When not in use, store the 4-flat connector in the vehicle’s trunk or cargo area.
