Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Trunk Area:
- Remove carpeting, fiberboard, and storage bin tray (if present) from the trunk.

Remove Ground Wire:
- Detach the ground wire from the driver’s side muffler.
-
Disconnect Exhaust:
- For 2007-2011 Models:
- Disconnect the exhaust at the flange on both sides and retain the fasteners.
- For 2012 and Later Models:
- Disconnect the exhaust at the lap joint on both sides and retain the fasteners.
- For 2007-2011 Models:

Expose Frame Area:
- Push the exhaust toward the rear of the vehicle and off the rubber isolator.
- Gently move the heat shield toward the frame rail to expose the area between the frame rail and wheel well.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position between the frame rails and spare tire wheel well.
- Align the rear edge of the hitch side brackets flush with the bulkhead.
- Verify the hitch is properly positioned.

Mark and Drill Holes:
- Using the hitch as a template, mark and center punch two (2) holes on both sides.
- Lower the hitch and drill 7/16” holes through the trunk pan at the marked locations. Adjust alignment if needed, and remove burrs.

Install Plates and Bolts:
- Position the provided plate over the drilled holes inside the trunk.
- Insert carriage bolts through the plate and trunk pan. Ensure the installation is above the carpet.

Attach Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, align it over the carriage bolts, and secure with lock washers and hex nuts.

Reattach Components:
- Gently bend the heat shield back into place.
- Reattach the exhaust to the rubber isolator and the flange/lap joint.
- Reinstall the ground wire to the muffler.

Seal Bolts:
- Apply sealant to the bolt attachments inside the spare tire well to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle.

Reinstall Trunk Components:
- Replace the carpeting, fiberboard, and storage bin tray (if present).

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapterfor Nissan Altima and Nissan Sentra

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the rear threshold plate temporarily.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
-
Locate the Vehicle’s Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connector carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Clean all connector surfaces to remove dirt.
-
Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat step 3 on the passenger side using the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or cross member.
- Clean the grounding area and drill a 3/32” hole. Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Mount the Black Box:
- In the driver’s side storage area, clean a flat surface using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the T-Connector’s black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Route the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector from below the threshold plate into the trunk.
- Store the connector in the trunk when not in use.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame to the vehicle battery, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.
Warning:
- If routing the wire along the exterior of the vehicle, avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and the fuel tank.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal of the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold plate, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the T-Connector functionality with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
