Wiring Access Location:
- Passenger Cars (P):
- P3: Behind driver-side taillight housing, inside the trunk
- P4: Behind passenger-side taillight housing, inside the trunk
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Trunk Area:
- Open the vehicle tailgate.
- Remove the rear scuff panel and cargo floor covers (Figure A).
- On both the driver and passenger sides, remove the rear access panels and cargo net loops.
- Partially remove the rear trim panels (Figures B, C).

Access Driver-Side Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Inside the driver-side rear access panel, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness connectors.
- These connectors will resemble those on the custom wiring harness.
- Separate the connectors from the taillight housing, taking care not to damage the locking tabs (Figure D).

Connect the T-Connector on Driver Side:
- Insert the custom wiring harness end with the yellow wire between the separated connectors on the driver side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place (Figure E).

Establish Ground Connection:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with a nut in the vehicle frame, or drill a 3/32" pilot hole.
- Ensure the grounding area is free of rust, dirt, and paint.
- Secure the white ground wire using the provided ring terminal and screw.
- Warning: Check for hidden components behind or under the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route T-Connector to Passenger Side:
- Route the custom wiring harness end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the removed scuff panels.
- Repeat Steps 2 and 3 on the passenger side using the harness end with the green wire.

Mount the Converter Box:
- Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle, near the taillight.
- Adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.

Route the Black Power Wire:
- Route the black power wire from the vehicle battery as shown on the included CME-PCL-INS sheet.
- Ensure the wire is routed away from sharp edges and moving parts.

Position the 4-Flat Connector:
- When in use, route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk.
- When not in use, roll up and store it in a convenient, out-of-the-way location inside the trunk.
- Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties.

Reassemble and Test:
- Reinstall all items removed during installation.
- Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
- Test for proper function using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer.
Additional Notes:
- If using the converter as a powered module for a two-wire system, the red brake wire must be grounded.
- Use the provided ring terminal for battery connection.
- The fuse holder should contain a 10-amp fuse maximum; install the fuse after all other steps are complete.
- Attach the ring terminal of the white ground wire to the vehicle body using the screw provided (drill a 3/32" hole if necessary).

- Warning: Do not exceed the product rating or the tow vehicle lamp load rating, whichever is lower.
- Exceeding the product rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating, and potential fire.
