Installation Instructions for Subaru Crosstrek (2018-Present)
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- 3/4" Socket
- Torque Wrench
- Die Grinder

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Remove rubber plugs from the frame rails.
- Remove two rubber plugs from each frame rail using a flat tool or your hands.
- Leave the center plugs in place.
- Return the removed plugs to the vehicle owner.
Step 2: Enlarge access holes and fishwire the hardware.
- Use a die grinder to enlarge the access holes on each frame rail to fit the 1/2" carriage bolts and spacers.
- Fishwire one 1/2" carriage bolt and one square-hole spacer into position through the access hole to the rear mounting hole on both frame rails.
- Reverse fishwire the remaining 1/2" carriage bolts and square-hole spacers into the access hole for proper alignment.
- Leave the fishwires attached to all hardware.
Step 3: Position and secure the hitch.
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning it with the mounting hardware.
- Use CM-SP16 round-hole spacers as needed to level the hitch.
- Carefully remove the fishwires and loosely secure the hitch using the provided 1/2" hex flange nuts.
- Avoid pushing the bolts back into the frame.
Step 4: Torque the hardware.
- Using a torque wrench, tighten all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs.
- Double-check that all hardware is secure.

- (4) 1/2"-13 x 1-1/2" Carriage Bolts
- (4) 0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00" Square-Hole Spacers
- (4) 0.250 x 1.50 x 2.00" Round-Hole Spacers (for leveling as needed)
- (4) 1/2"-13 Hex Flange Nuts
- (4) 1/2" Fishwire Tools
