Wiring Access Location:
- S1: Behind driver-side taillight housing

- Socket extension

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Locate the vehicle's battery in the engine compartment on the driver side.
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent accidental electrical contact. Secure the cable away from the battery during installation.

Access Taillight Trim and Fasteners:
- Open the rear hatch and locate the taillight fastener covers.
- Use a panel trim removal tool to remove the covers and expose the fasteners.
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolts securing each taillight.
- Carefully pull the taillights straight back to remove them, ensuring the alignment tabs are not damaged. Set the taillights aside.

Fishwire the Wiring Harness:
- Starting on the driver side, route a fish wire from under the bumper cover to the taillight cavity.
- Attach the yellow wire from the custom wiring harness to the fish wire and pull it through to the taillight cavity.

Install Driver-Side Wiring:
- Connect the yellow wire from the wiring harness between the factory connectors and the driver-side taillight.
- Place the taillight back into its cavity but do not secure it with hardware yet.

Install Passenger-Side Wiring:
- Route the green wire along the rear bumper to the passenger-side taillight cavity, securing it with zip ties.
- Use the same fish wire process to pull the green wire into the passenger-side taillight cavity.
- Connect the green wire between the factory connectors and the passenger-side taillight.

Mount the Converter Box:
- Locate a flat, clean surface near the driver-side taillight cavity. Use the provided double-sided tape to secure the black converter box.
- Ensure the box is mounted in a protected location away from road spray and debris.

Ground the Wiring Harness:
- Locate a grounding point, such as an existing bolt or screw in the vehicle frame. If necessary, drill a 3/32" pilot hole in a clean, rust-free area.
- Secure the white ground wire using the provided ring terminal and ground screw.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Route the black power wire from the converter box to the vehicle battery, following the Powered Converter Lead Instruction Sheet.
- Use a grommet or sealant when passing the wire through sheet metal to prevent damage.
- Attach the wire to the positive battery terminal using a fuse holder with a 15-amp fuse (install the fuse after all other steps are completed).

Test and Secure the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle near the hitch receiver.
- Secure any loose wiring with cable ties and attach the provided dust cover to protect the connector.
- Test the wiring harness using a test light, 4-flat tester, or a functioning trailer to confirm proper operation.

Reassemble and Finalize:
- Reinstall the taillights, securing them with the original fasteners.
- Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and ensure all components are properly secured.
