Installation Instructions for Telescoping Van Bar Carrier

Assembly Instructions:
Step 1: Assemble Inner and Outer Bars
- Attach the Inner Bar Assembly (B) to the Outer Bar Assembly (D) using 5/16" x 3/4" Carriage Bolts (F).
- Secure the bars to the Stanchions (E) with 5/16" x 1" Carriage Bolts (H), Washers (I), and Locknuts (C). Leave the locknuts lightly tightened to allow movement.
Step 2: Install onto Vehicle
- Insert the inner bar into the outer bar and place the assembly onto the vehicle's roof.
- Position the bottom edge of each stanchion into the vehicle’s rain gutter and slide the Mounting Brackets (J) over the outside of the rain gutter.
- Tighten the 5/16" x 1-1/2" Hex Head Bolt (G) to pull the bottom edge of the Mounting Bracket (J) upward securely against the rain gutter.
Step 3: Secure the Assembly
- Tighten the locknuts to secure the Mounting Bracket (J) to the Stanchion (E). Ensure the rain gutter is sandwiched securely between the bracket and stanchion.
- Re-tighten the Hex Head Bolt (G) for added stability.
Step 4: Drill and Secure Final Fasteners
- Drill a 5/16" hole through the existing holes in the ends of the outer bar assembly and through both sides of the inner bar.
- Insert a 5/16" x 2" Hex Head Bolt (A) through the drilled holes and secure with a Locknut (C).
Step 5: Tighten All Fasteners
- Verify all fasteners are tightened securely before use. Recheck after installation and before each use.

- Maximum load is 150 lbs (68 kg) per bar. For two bars, the combined capacity is 300 lbs (136 kg).
- Periodic Inspections:
- Check for signs of wear, corrosion, or fatigue before every use.

- Vehicle Compliance:
- Follow the vehicle manufacturer's specifications for rain gutter-mounted accessories.
