Installation Instructions for Honda Civic

Specifications:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Enlarge Access Hole:
- Enlarge the existing 15/16” diameter access hole in the bottom of the frame rail to 1-1/8” diameter. This will allow for the installation of blocks into the frame.

Fishwire Carriage Bolt and Block:
- Use the fishwire method to feed the 1/2”-13 x 1.75” GR5 carriage bolts and 1/4” x 1 x 3” blocks (3022) through the access holes in the frame rail on both sides.

Position and Secure Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and loosely install the conical toothed washers and hex nuts on the forward attachments.

Install U-Bolt:
- Install the 3/8”-16 U-bolt through the tie-down hook and hitch bracket as shown in the diagram. Use the optional block (6484) if necessary to ensure the receiver tube is level or slightly tilted upward.

Paint Bare Metal:
- Paint any bare metal around the edge of the access hole to prevent rust or corrosion.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 3/8”-16 GR2 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft.
- Torque all 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft.

- Important: Use only the specified drawbar for correct bumper clearance and height. The drawbar must be used in the rise position only.
