Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panel (for vehicles with single exhaust):
- Remove the panel covering the driver’s side frame rail by detaching seven fasteners.
- Return the panel and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Position Hitch:
- Lift the hitch into position.
- Install the 3/8”-16 U-bolt over the vehicle tow hook and down through the holes in the vehicle center bracket.
- Secure the U-bolt with the provided 3/8”-16 flanged locknuts.

Secure Hitch to Frame Rails:
- Install M10 bolts with conical toothed washers through the frame straps into the existing weld nuts on the vehicle frame rails (one per side).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M10 CL8.8 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M).
- Torque all 3/8”-16 GR2 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).

- (2) M10 x 1.25 x 40mm Hex Bolts
- (2) 3/8”-16 Flanged Locknuts

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Kia Elantra
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill with 3/32” Drill Bit
- Philips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the trunk and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
-
Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the T-Connector on the Driver’s Side:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Lock into place, ensuring the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat step 3 on the passenger’s side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area. Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Mount the Black Box:
- In the driver’s side storage area, clean a flat area with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Route and Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector from below the threshold plate into the trunk. Store it in the trunk when not in use.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and any other items removed during installation.
- Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer to ensure proper functionality.
- For the initial test, reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
