Installation Instructions for Suzuki SX4 Crossover

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust System:
- Detach the exhaust at the rubber isolator. Spray lubricant on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator to ease removal.

Drill Access Holes:
- Drill a 1” access hole into the bottom of each frame rail. See Figure 2 for reference.

Fishwire Bolts and Spacers:
- Use the pull wire to feed the spacer and bolt into the frame rail through the 1” drilled hole. Pull them out through the attachment holes, leaving the pull wire attached.

Paint Exposed Metal:
- Apply paint to all exposed metal surfaces to prevent corrosion.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and secure it as shown in Figure 1. Remove pull wires and attach conical washers and nuts, being careful not to push the fasteners back into the frame rail. Hand-tighten.

Attach Hitch to Tow Hook:
- Secure the hitch to the tow hook, orienting the spacers as shown in Figure 1.

Check Alignment:
- Ensure the hitch is centered on the vehicle.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all fasteners to the specified values:
- 1/2”-13 GR5: 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
- 7/16”-14 GR5: 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)
- Torque all fasteners to the specified values:

Reinstall Exhaust System:
- Raise the exhaust system back into position and secure it.
Hardware List:
- (2) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.50” GR5
- (1) Carriage Bolt: 1/2”-13 x 2.00” GR5
- (2) Conical Washers: 7/16”
- (1) Conical Washer: 1/2”
- (2) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14
- (1) Hex Nut: 1/2”-13
- (2) Spacers (Small Square Holes)
- (1) Spacer
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
- Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
