Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panel:
- Detach the appearance panel covering the trunk pan using a Phillips tip screwdriver.
- Unscrew the 10 plastic screws while applying pressure to the opposite end.
- Remove the three (3) M6 nuts and return the panel to the vehicle owner.

Lower Exhaust:
- Detach the rubber exhaust hanger to lower the exhaust system.

Position Hitch (Driver’s Side First):
- Lift the driver’s side of the hitch into position, placing the crosstube over the tailpipe.
- Rotate the side bracket into position on the outside of the frame rail as far back as possible behind the wheel well.

Position Hitch (Passenger Side):
- Raise the passenger side of the hitch into position on the outside of the frame rails in front of the bulkhead.

Install Fasteners:
- Attach the provided M10 bolts and conical washers as shown in the diagram. Hand-tighten all fasteners.

Secure Hitch:
- Push the hitch rearward to align it properly and tighten all fasteners to the specified torque values.

Reattach Exhaust:
- Reinstall the rubber muffler hanger to secure the exhaust system.
Torque Specifications:
- Tighten all M10 CL8.8 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M).
Hardware List:
- (4) M10 x 1.25 x 40mm CL8.8 Bolts
- (4) Conical Toothed Washers
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Hyundai Elantra Touring and Hyundai Santa Fe

Wiring Access Location:
- Rear interior trim panels near the cargo area.
Tools Required:
- Trim panel remover.
- 1/4” socket and ratchet or wrench.
- Drill (3/32” drill bit).
- Phillips head screwdriver.
- Test probe.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the rear hatch and fold forward the rear seat.
- Temporarily remove all floor coverings, cargo trays, and the plastic threshold cover.
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
- Remove several trim panel fasteners to take off the panels. Be careful to avoid damaging any parts.
- Santa Fe Only: Remove the tie-down loop and additional fasteners to remove the panels.

Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
- The harness will have a connection point matching the T-Connector adapter.
- On the driver’s side, insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors. Lock it into place, ensuring the connectors are fully inserted.

Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side, behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat step 2 for the passenger’s side using the green wire.

Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or cross member.
- Caution: Do not drill into the vehicle floor, bed, or any exposed surfaces.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

Find a suitable mounting location inside the rear quarter panel on the driver’s side.
- Clean the mounting area with a 50/50 water-alcohol solution and attach the converter box using the provided double-sided tape.

Route the 4-flat connector from beneath the driver’s side trim panel into the rear storage compartment.
- Santa Fe Only: If necessary, cut a slit or notch in the storage tray to allow the 4-flat connector to enter the compartment.
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk or cargo area when not in use.

Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or cut during reassembly.

Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
