Installation Instructions for Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Vehicle:
- For Kia Rio (2014-current), remove the bottom appearance panel on the driver's side and return it to the owner.
- Remove rubber plugs from frame rails if present. Return to the owner for 5-door models or replace them after installation for 4-door models.

Insert Fasteners (4-Door Models):
- Use the pullwire method to insert the carriage bolts and spacers through the forward hole in the frame rail. Leave pullwires attached.

Insert Fasteners (5-Door Models):
- Use the reverse pullwire method to insert the carriage bolts and spacers through the access hole. Leave pullwires attached.

Install Tie-Down Hook Fasteners:
- Insert the carriage bolt through the spacer and tie-down hook.

Position Hitch:
- Feed the pullwires through the slots on the hitch bars.
- Place spacers as required:
- 1 spacer for 5-door Accent
- 2 spacers for 4-door Accent
- No spacer for 4-door Kia Rio.
- Raise the hitch into position, taking care not to push the fasteners back into the frame rails.

Secure Hitch:
- Remove the pullwires and attach conical washers and hex nuts to the fasteners as shown.
- Use the remaining fasteners to secure the tie-down hook.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
Hardware List:
- (2) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 2.00” GR5
- (1) Carriage Bolt: 7/16”-14 x 2.50” GR5
- (2) Spacers: 0.13” x 0.93” x 3.00” (rounded corners)
- (1) Spacer: 0.25” x 1.00” x 3.00” (square corners)
- (3) Conical Washers: 7/16”
- (3) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14
- (2) Spacers: 0.25” x 1.50” x 3.00”
- (2) Pullwires: 7/16”

- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure they are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug any holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
