Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Lower Fascia:
- Use a T10 Torxbit socket to remove two (2) plastic screws and two (2) tabs from the bottom lower fascia.
- Use plastic trim tools or a flat head screwdriver to unclip all tabs behind the lower fascia.
- Remove the lower fascia.

Lower Exhaust Hanger:
- Use a 13 mm socket to remove one (1) bolt from the exhaust hanger bracket on each side and lower the muffler temporarily.
- Support the muffler with a bungee cord to prevent damage.

Remove Lower Bumper Bolts:
- Use a 13 mm socket to remove four (4) M8 factory bolts from the lower portion of the bumper beam.
- Return the bolts to the vehicle owner.

Install Hitch: a. Using the reverse fishwire method, feed the carriage bolt (1) and spacer (2) through slots on the bottom of the frame rails. Leave pull wires attached. b. Tape four (4) 1/4" spacers (6) on the forward side of hitch brackets and align the spacer holes with the hitch slots. c. Raise the hitch into position, over the exhaust, and feed the pull wires through the hitch holes. d. Remove pull wires, then loosely install the 1/2" conical washer (3) and hex nut (4) to the carriage bolt. Adjust the heat shield as needed. e. Loosely install four (4) M8 bolts (5) and four (4) 3/8" conical washers (7) into the existing bumper weldnuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all M8 CL8.8 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).
- Tighten all 1/2" GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

Trim Lower Fascia:
- Locate the center of the bottom fascia and trim a 2.5" tall by 3.0" wide section.

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the exhaust hangers, fasteners, and lower fascia removed in Steps 1 and 2.

- (2) Carriage bolts: 1/2-13 x 2.00 GR5
- (2) Spacers: .250 x 1 x 3 (Part #: 3022)
- (2) Conical washers: 1/2" (Part #: 01292008)

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Volkswagen Golf

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Cargo Area:
- Open the vehicle’s rear tailgate.
- Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set aside all items carefully to avoid damage.

Access Interior Panels:
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle.
- Remove necessary trim panel fasteners, being cautious not to damage the panels.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors on the driver’s side, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.
- Insert the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors and lock into place.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger-side T-Connector connection.

- Route the black wire through a grommet or along the exterior frame, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

- Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
