Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Fascia Door and Bottom Fascia Support Brackets:
- Use a 7mm socket to remove (2) bolts from the bottom fascia door.
- Use a 7mm socket to remove (3) bolts from the bottom fascia support brackets on each side. If present, unclip the electrical plug.
- Return the bottom fascia support brackets to the owner.
2. Remove Fascia:
- Open the trunk and use a T15 Torx driver and 7mm socket to remove (2) bolts as shown in the manual.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver and T15 Torx driver to remove (3) bolts from the mud flaps on each side.
- Remove (1) bolt from the bottom fascia and (1) bolt from the wheel well liner on each side using the T15 Torx driver.
- Gently pull off the upper wheel well body trim piece to access (2) bolts behind it. Use a 7mm socket to remove these bolts on both sides.
- Carefully pull the fascia free, detaching attachment straps and unplugging any wiring on the driver side.
- Set the fascia and straps aside for reinstallation.
3. Remove Bumper Beam and Exhaust Hanger:
- Use a 15mm socket to remove (2) flange nuts and (2) M10 bolts from the bumper beam on each side.
- Carefully remove the bumper beam and exhaust hanger while supporting the exhaust with a stand to prevent damage.
4. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and hang it on the studs on the bumper end panel.
- Raise the bumper beam and exhaust hanger bracket to sandwich the hitch in place.
- Reuse the original fasteners to loosely attach the assembly.
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M10 fasteners to 53 lb-ft (72 N·m).
6. Reinstall Components:
- Reverse the steps to reinstall the fascia, mud flaps, and all other removed components.
7. Optional Fascia Door Trim:
- Mark and trim the fascia door to a size of 1.5” tall by 3.0” wide using a utility knife.
- Obtain customer approval before trimming the fascia door.
- Reinstall the trimmed fascia door.
