Installation Instructions for Chevrolet Camaro (2016-Present)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Fascia:
- Use a 7mm socket and T15 Torx driver to remove 10 bolts and 4 screws. One bolt on each side is hidden behind the wheel well liner.
- Carefully remove the fascia and unplug the wiring. Set the bumper fascia aside.
2. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 15mm socket to remove 8 flange nuts securing the bumper to the end panel.
- Slide the exhaust bracket off the two lower studs and then remove the bumper beam.
3. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch and align its attachment holes with the studs on the end panel.
- Reinstall the bumper beam, sandwiching the hitch between the beam and the end panel.
- Re-align the exhaust bracket with the two lower studs and reuse the flange nuts to loosely fasten them.
4. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all fasteners to 53 lb-ft (72 N·m).
5. Reinstall Components:
- Reconnect wiring, fasteners, and fascia following the reverse order of Steps 1 and 2.
- If necessary, trim the center inside lower edge of the fascia to fit around the hitch. The hitch is intentionally designed to sit close to the fascia.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly check all fasteners and ensure the hitch is securely mounted.
- If the hitch is removed, plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for Modulite® HD Protector Vehicle Wiring

- Phillips Head #2 Screwdriver
- Wire Cutters
- Wire Strippers/Wire Crimpers
- Tester or Volt Meter
- Socket & Ratchet Set
- Drill with 3/32” Drill Bit
- Double-Sided Tape
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
