Installation Instructions for Toyota Corolla (2020-Current)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Remove the three rearmost rubber hangers to lower the exhaust.
- Support the exhaust to avoid damage.

Remove Heat Shield:
- Using a 10mm socket, remove nuts securing the heat shield to the vehicle.
- Trim the heat shield in the area where the hitch contacts the frame rail. (Dimensions are approximate.)

Remove Caulk:
- Use a scraper to remove caulk from the frame rail in the area where the hitch will contact.

Mark Drilling Position:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the rearmost hole in the hitch bracket with the rear attachment hole in the frame rail.
- Mark the location for drilling the forward attachment hole, then set the hitch aside.

Drill Access/Attachment Hole:
- Using a 1” hole saw, drill an access hole in the frame.

Fishwire Fasteners:
- Using the fishwire technique, install the rearmost fastener through the drilled access hole on each side.
- Use the reverse fishwire technique to install the forward fastener on each side, leaving the fishwires attached.

Install Hitch:
- Reinstall the trimmed heat shield.
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the holes in the hitch bracket with the installed bolts (ensure not to push fasteners into the frame rail).
- Remove fishwires and install conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) and hex nuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 50 ft-lb (68 N*m).

Reinstall Exhaust Hangers:
- Reattach the three exhaust hangers to return the exhaust to its original position.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Corolla Sedan

- Trim Panel Remover

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.
- Clean all connector surfaces to remove dirt or debris.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are engaged.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the connector containing the green wire along the threshold to the passenger side.
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors and lock into place.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate an existing ground stud on the driver’s side.
- Loosen the bolt, place the screw eyelet on the stud, and retighten the bolt.
Caution: Ensure all other ground connections are secure when removing and reattaching the ground stud.

Route the Power Wire:
- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-One® T-Connector box on the driver’s side.
- Attach the provided black wire and route it along the exterior frame to the engine compartment, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, and areas where the wire may be pinched or damaged.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
Warning: Follow all warnings printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Mount the T-One® Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way location and mount the black box module using the provided double-sided tape.

Secure the Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remaining T-One® T-Connector harness, avoiding areas where it could pinch, cut, or melt.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all panels, clips, and floor coverings removed during installation.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
