Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• 1/4” Socket
• Wire Crimpers
• Wire Cutters

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Access the Vehicle Wiring Connectors:

   • Open the rear door and remove the access panels on both sides to expose the vehicle’s wiring connectors.
   • Remove trim panel fasteners carefully to avoid damaging the panels.

2. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness on both driver and passenger sides.
   • Ensure connectors are clean and free of dirt.

3. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Plug the T-Connector harness with the yellow wire in between the driver-side vehicle’s wiring connectors.
   • Ensure the locking tabs are secure and the connectors are fully inserted.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector with the green wire across the top threshold and through the passenger-side trim panel access hole.
   • Connect the green wire T-Connector to the passenger-side wiring harness.

   Note: For easier installation, attach the harness to a fish wire and pull it carefully toward the passenger side.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution: Verify the area behind before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Mount the Black Box:

   • Mount the T-Connector black box so the epoxy side faces downward to prevent water buildup.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Attach the provided black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire from the T-Connector box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds to the engine compartment and battery.

   Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that could pinch or break the wire.

8. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
   • Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector. Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.

   Warning: Ensure all connections are complete before testing the system. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

10. Secure the Wiring:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall the threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.

Specifications:

• Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
• Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
