Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Ford Focus Titanium Hatchback
Part Numbers:

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open Rear Tailgate:
- Remove cargo nets and the cargo floor hatch to access the spare tire area.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.

Remove Interior Trim Panels:
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides.
- Remove trim panel fasteners and set aside carefully.
-
Access the Taillights:
- Pull back the carpet on both sides to expose the plastic wing nuts (2 per side).
- Remove the wing nuts and carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle without damaging the alignment pins.

Prepare the Grommets:
- On both sides, pull the taillight wiring harness and unseat the grommets.
- Slit the grommets to allow the T-One® T-Connector wires to pass through.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire through the hole and into the taillight pocket.
- Reseat the grommet around the wires.
- Connect the T-One® T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors and lock into place.
- Reinstall the driver-side taillight assembly.

Install the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the green wire T-Connector behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger side.
- Repeat Step 5 on the passenger side, connecting the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring into the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wire.
Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks.

Connect to the Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
- Connect the black wire to the other end of the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place and mount the T-One® T-Connector black box module using the double-sided tape provided.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-One® T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic wing nuts, carpet, and threshold, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
