Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Fascia Removal:
- Bottom Bolts: Using a 7mm socket, remove (4) screws from the bottom of the fascia.
- Wheel Well Bolts: Remove (3) T15 Torx screws from each wheel well. Remove an additional 7mm screw located vertically behind the wheel well liner on both sides.
- License Plate Area: Use a 7mm socket to remove (2) screws near the license plate area.
- Taillights: Open the trunk. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the caps covering the taillight screws. Remove (2) T15 screws per taillight, gently pull the taillights rearward, disconnect the wiring harness, and set aside.
- Fascia Removal: Use plastic trim tools to carefully detach the fascia starting at the wheel wells. Disconnect the wiring harness attached to the fascia and remove it.
2. Bumper Beam Removal:
- Flange Nuts: Use a 15mm socket to remove (6) M10 flange nuts from the bumper beam.
- Gently remove the bumper beam and set it aside.
3. Hitch Installation:
- Position Hitch: Raise the hitch into position, aligning its holes with the studs on the end panel.
- Reinstall Bumper Beam: Place the bumper beam on top of the hitch and loosely reinstall the (6) M10 flange nuts.
4. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M10 fasteners to 38 ft-lbs (52 N·m).
5. Trim Fascia:
- Lower Fascia Trim: Use a tape measure, marker, and utility knife to cut a 3-1/4” wide by 3” deep notch in the lower center of the fascia.
- Raised Areas: Trim (2) raised areas on the inside of the fascia flush with the fascia surface using a utility knife.
6. Reinstall Components:
- Reverse the steps from Step 1 to reinstall the fascia, taillights, and wiring.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect the hitch and all fasteners to ensure a secure fit.
- If the hitch is removed, plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the rear door and temporarily remove the rear threshold, cargo net, and cargo cover to access the rear interior trim panels.
- Fold the rear seats forward if helpful.

Remove Rear Interior Trim Panels:
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides by removing necessary fasteners.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Behind the taillights, locate connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter.
- Separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors on the driver’s side and insert the T-Connector containing the yellow and brown wires between the vehicle connectors. Ensure connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger side using the T-Connector end containing the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire from the T-Connector box to the supplied black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or break the wire.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
