Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Venza

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Hatch:
- Remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- On the driver’s side, insert the T-One® Connector end with the brown and red wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock them in place.
- Be careful not to damage the locking tabs, and ensure the connectors are fully inserted and secure.

Route Wires Through the Grommet:
- Locate the grommet on the driver’s side in the rear cargo area.
- Carefully slit the grommet and route the yellow and green wires through the slit.

Connect the T-Connector Underneath the Vehicle:
- Underneath the vehicle near the rear bumper cover on the driver’s side, locate the mating connectors.
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow and green wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock them in place.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the harness with the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas where the wire could be pinched or cut.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.
Caution: Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Access the Passenger-Side Battery Compartment:
- On the passenger’s side, remove the side trim panel cover to access the vehicle’s battery.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting from the passenger-side battery compartment, route the black 12-gauge wire across the threshold to the driver’s side cargo area.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all plastic trim panels, threshold covers, storage covers, and floor coverings removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Secure the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
