Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Toyota Venza

Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• Wire Crimpers
• Wire Cutters
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Hatch:

   • Remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area.

2. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • On the driver’s side, insert the T-One® Connector end with the brown and red wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock them in place.
   • Be careful not to damage the locking tabs, and ensure the connectors are fully inserted and secure.

3. Route Wires Through the Grommet:

   • Locate the grommet on the driver’s side in the rear cargo area.
   • Carefully slit the grommet and route the yellow and green wires through the slit.

4. Connect the T-Connector Underneath the Vehicle:

   • Underneath the vehicle near the rear bumper cover on the driver’s side, locate the mating connectors.
   • Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow and green wires between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock them in place.

5. Mount the Black Box:

   • Mount the T-One® Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
   • Secure the harness with the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas where the wire could be pinched or cut.

6. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
   • Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.

   Caution: Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

7. Access the Passenger-Side Battery Compartment:

   • On the passenger’s side, remove the side trim panel cover to access the vehicle’s battery.

8. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
   • Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
   • Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

9. Route the Power Wire:

   • Starting from the passenger-side battery compartment, route the black 12-gauge wire across the threshold to the driver’s side cargo area.

10. Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:

    • Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

11. Reconnect the Battery and Test:

    • Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
    • Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
    • Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

12. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace all plastic trim panels, threshold covers, storage covers, and floor coverings removed during installation.
    • Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

13. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Secure the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
