Installation Instructions for Chevrolet Impala

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Remove rubber hangers from hanger brackets to lower the exhaust.
- If the vehicle has dual exhaust, lower both sides.

Insert Fasteners into Frame Rails:
- Fishwire 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4" carriage bolts and blocks through the access slots in the vehicle's frame rail and align them with the holes, on both sides.

Insert Fasteners into Cross Member:
- Fishwire 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolts and blocks through the access holes in the cross member and down through the corresponding holes in the cross member.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position.
- Secure the hitch using conical toothed washers and hex nuts as shown in the diagrams.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all 1/2"-13 Grade 5 fasteners to 75 ft-lb (102 N*m).
Hardware List:
- (4) Carriage Bolt, 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4"
- (2) Carriage Bolt, 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4"
- (6) Block, 1/4" x 1" x 3"
- (6) Conical Toothed Washer, 1/2"

Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Chevy Impala
Part Numbers:

- Test Probe
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Vehicle Wiring:
- Open the trunk and remove the threshold panel and floor coverings.
- On both driver and passenger sides, remove the two plastic wing nuts from inside the trunk.

Expose and Remove Taillight Housing:
- Carefully pull back the carpet on both sides to expose the second set of plastic wing nuts (two per side).
- Unscrew the wing nuts and carefully pry the taillight housing away from the vehicle, ensuring not to break the alignment tabs.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the driver-side taillight socket.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the mating plugs of the taillight socket and vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Wiring:
- On the driver’s side, route the T-Connector end with the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body.
- Route the T-Connector green wire to the passenger side and the 4-flat connector underneath the bumper.
Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or other points that may damage the wires.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire up through the opening on the passenger side.
- Repeat Step 2 for the passenger-side connection.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or cross member.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing, drill a 3/32” hole, and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Reinstall the Taillight Assemblies:
- Position the vehicle wiring harness between the taillight housing and the vehicle body.
- Secure the T-Connector harness with the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling.
Note: Mount the 4-flat connector in a suitable location under the vehicle. Bracket not included.

Test the Installation:
- Verify that all connections are complete.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.
