Wiring Access Location:

• Sedan: PC3, PC4
• Hatchback: PC1, PC2

Tools Required:

• Drill Bits: 1/2"
• Wrenches: 3/4", 7/8"

Specifications:

• Max Gross Trailer Weight: 2,000 lb. (908 kg)
• Max Tongue Weight: 200 lb. (91 kg)
• Note: Do not exceed towing vehicle ratings.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

General Instructions:

1. Raise Hitch Into Position:

   • Position the hitch so that the driver’s side bracket is inboard of the tie-down hook and the passenger’s side bracket is outboard of the tie-down hook.
   • The placement of the block with two holes varies by model (see Figure 1).

2. Install Carriage Bolts and Blocks:

   • Insert the bolts and blocks through the vehicle’s tie-down hooks. Loosely install flat washers and hex nuts.

Sedan Models:

3. Fishwire Carriage Bolt:

   • Use the fishwire to guide the carriage bolt and block through the end of the frame rail into the existing hole in the frame.

4. Install Remaining Fasteners:

   • Secure the remaining fasteners as shown in the diagram.

Hatchback Models:

3. Drill Holes:

   • Use the hitch as a template to drill a 1/2” hole at the forward-most end of the slot in the side bracket on the passenger side.

4. Fishwire Carriage Bolt:

   • Guide the carriage bolt and block through the access hole on the bottom of the frame rail.

5. Install Remaining Fasteners:

   • Secure the remaining fasteners as shown in the diagram.

6. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Use a torque wrench to tighten all 1/2” fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

• (1) .188” x 1.00” x 2.00” Block
• (1) .25” x 1.50” x 4.00” Block

Safety Notes:

• Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Always wear safety glasses when working under the vehicle.
• Do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes.

Installation Instructions for Towing Vehicle 4-Way Flat Plug

Tools Required:

• Circuit Tester
• Wire Crimp Tool
• Cable Ties

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions:

Towing Vehicle:

1. Locate the appropriate wires at the rear of the vehicle using a circuit tester and the provided wiring chart as a reference.
2. Make the connections as shown in the chart using wire taps.
3. Connect the Ground Wire (White) to the vehicle frame or body.

General:

1. Test all lights using a test light, circuit tester, or connected trailer to ensure proper functionality.
2. Secure all loose wires with cable ties.

Notes:

• Vehicles with separate turn and stop lights require a taillight converter.
• If splicing into the vehicle wiring:
  • Consult the vehicle owner's manual or local dealer for warnings or restrictions.
  • Use appropriate gauge wire splices for secure connections.

Warnings:

1. Complete Connections:
   • All connections must be complete for proper functionality. Test and verify installation with a test light, circuit tester, or trailer after installation.
2. Overloading Prevention:
   • Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer’s ratings or:
     • Maximum Right Turn, Left Turn, Stop, & Tail Light Circuits: 7.5 amps
     • Maximum (+) Battery, Reverse, and Electric Brake Circuits: 30 amps.
