Prepare Vehicle:
- Raise the vehicle using a hoist or ramps to access the underside.

Lower Exhaust:
- While supporting the exhaust, remove the rear hangers to lower the exhaust system.
- Ensure the exhaust is lowered sufficiently to position the hitch over the muffler tips.

Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the slots in the hitch with the existing weld nuts in the bottom of the frame.

Install Fasteners:
- Loosely install four (4) M10 hex bolts with conical washers into the weld nuts, as shown in the instructions.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners using a torque wrench to 42 ft-lb (57 N*m).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Reattach the rear hangers to secure the exhaust system.
Hardware List:
- (4) Hex Bolt, M10 x 1.25 x 30mm CL10.9
- (4) Conical Washer, 3/8"

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Hyundai Tucson

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Fish Tape
- Test Probe
- Utility Knife
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and carefully remove the vehicle’s taillight assemblies.
- Pull the taillight housing away from the vehicle to expose the wiring harness connectors in the pocket behind the taillight.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Locate the connection points matching the T-Connector adapter ends behind each taillight housing.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from both taillight sockets. Ensure all connectors are clean and free of dirt.
-
Prepare the Cargo Area:
- Inside the rear cargo area, temporarily remove all floor coverings, cargo trays, and the plastic threshold cover.
- Warning: Do not remove vehicle side trim panels to avoid breaking the clips that secure them.

Route the T-Connector Wiring:
- Locate the grommet under the vehicle on the driver’s side. Remove the grommet.
- Fish both T-Connector ends and the power wire through the grommet hole from inside the vehicle.
Note:
- If a vehicle wire passes through the existing grommet, carefully slit the T-Connector’s grommet to allow the wire to pass through.
- Seal the grommet with silicone rubber (not provided).

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with yellow/brown wires up from under the vehicle into the driver’s side taillight pocket.
- Plug the T-Connector into the driver-side wiring connectors, ensuring the locking tabs are secure.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with green/red wires over the bumper bracket and across to the passenger-side taillight pocket.
- Secure the harness to the bumper using cable ties, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may damage the wires.
- Repeat Step 5 for the passenger-side T-Connector.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire rearward along the frame rail, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, and the fuel tank.
- Connect the black wire to the red 12-gauge power wire exiting the grommet using a butt connector.
Note:
- Apply heat to the splice using a hot air gun until the tubing recovers and adhesive flows.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector (e.g., an existing ground stud).
- Clean the area and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer.
- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness with cable ties to prevent damage or rattling.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor coverings, and other items removed during installation.
- Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
