• Exhaust Removal Pliers
• Tin Snips
• Tape Measure
• Flat Head Screwdriver
• Ratchet Strap or Bungee Cord

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower muffler:

   • Use an exhaust hanger removal tool or pry bar to remove 3-5 rubber hangers (varies by model year).
   • Spray lubricant or soapy water on hangers for easier removal.
   • Support the exhaust using a ratchet strap or bungee cord before removing hangers.

2. Remove heat shield:

   • Use a 10 mm socket to remove 4 screws securing the heat shield to the vehicle.
   • Shield will be trimmed and reinstalled later.

3. Remove rubber plugs:

   • Use a flat screwdriver to remove 3 rubber plugs from the frame's forward holes.

4. Trim heat shield:

   • Use metal shears to trim the heat shield as shown.

5. Reinstall heat shield:

   • Use 3 of the previously removed screws to reattach the trimmed heat shield.

6. Install fasteners:

   • Feed the pull wire through the second attachment hole and out of the forward access hole.
   • Attach a 7/16” carriage bolt and ¼” thick spacer block to the pull wire and pull fasteners into position.
   • Repeat for the middle attachment on both sides.

7. Install forward fasteners:

   • Use the reverse fish wire method to attach a 7/16” carriage bolt and ¼” thick spacer block.
   • Pull fasteners into position on both sides.

8. Attach spacer blocks:

   • Tape 1/8” thick spacer blocks to the top of the hitch brackets at the forward-most attachment point (1 per side).

9. Install hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position, ensuring fasteners remain in place.
   • Loosely attach 7/16” conical toothed washers and 7/16-14 hex nuts to the carriage bolts (6 places).
   • Adjust the hitch if necessary for clearance between the hitch and muffler.
   • Torque all fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N*m).

10. Raise muffler:

    • Reattach all rubber hangers removed earlier.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Scion FR-S

• Wire Cutters
• Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Trunk:

   • Remove the threshold panel.
   • Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

2. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness connection points.
   • Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
   • Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

3. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver’s side wiring connectors.
   • Lock the connectors securely into place.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
   • Repeat Step 3 to connect the green wire.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution:

   • Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Mount the Black Box:

   • Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle’s exterior frame to the battery in the engine compartment.

   Warning:

   • Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas where the wire could be pinched or damaged.

8. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
   • Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
   • Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.

   Warning:

   • Ensure all connections are complete. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

10. Secure the Wiring:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and any other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
