Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Acura TLX
Part Numbers:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the taillights on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle.
- Carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle, ensuring not to damage the alignment pins.

Access the Wiring Harness:
- On both sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Identify the connection point that matches the ends of the T-One® T-Connector.

Prepare the Grommets:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate and partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
- Pull the vehicle taillight wire harness and unseat the grommet on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Slit the driver-side grommet enough to allow the trailer wiring harness access to the taillight assemblies.
- From inside the trunk, route the T-Connector with yellow and brown wires through the grommet on the driver’s side.
- Reseat the grommet.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Locate and disconnect the black 2-pin connector on the driver-side taillight housing.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place.
- Repeat this for the black 3-pin connector using the T-Connector end with the brown wire.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 4 for the passenger side.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Repeat Step 5 on the passenger’s side using the T-Connector containing the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery, avoiding areas that may pinch or break the wire.
Warning: Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and fuel tanks.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning: Follow all warnings printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface and mount the T-One® T-Connector black box module to prevent damage or rattling.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-One® T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the taillight housing assemblies, felt trunk liner, threshold, and other components removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.

- Max. stop/turn light: 4.2 amps per side
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the taillights on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle.
