Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:

   • Open the rear hatch.
   • Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, storage covers, and floor covering.

2. Remove Interior Trim Panels:

   • Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides.
   • Remove the necessary fasteners to access the panels carefully. Set aside all items to prevent damage.

3. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
   • Separate the connectors, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.
   • Clean the connectors to ensure all surfaces are free of dirt.

4. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
   • Ensure all connectors are fully inserted and locked in place.

5. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector with the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger side.
   • Repeat Step 4 for the passenger side.

6. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the driver-side connector.
   • Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   Caution:

   • Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.
   • Do not drill into the vehicle floor or any exposed surfaces.

7. Connect the 1-Pin Housing:

   • Locate the 1-pin housing taped to the taillight harness on the driver’s side.
   • Plug the 1-pin housing from the T-Connector into the mating housing.

8. Install the Fuse:

   • Open the vehicle hood and locate the fuse box on the driver’s side near the front of the vehicle.
   • Locate the position labeled "20A Trailer."
   • Insert the provided 15-amp fuse into this position.
   • If a fuse is already present in the trailer position, skip this step.

9. Mount the Black Box:

   • Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
   • Secure the remaining T-Connector harness with the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling.

10. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and floor covering removed during installation.
    • Ensure no wires are pinched or cut during reassembly.

11. Test the Installation:

    • Test and verify the installation using a test light or trailer.
    • For the initial test, reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

    Specifications:

    • Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
    • Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)

• Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer’s rating or the unit specifications.
