Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Acura TLX
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- 8mm Socket & Ratchet or 8mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Test Probe
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Locate the Vehicle Wiring:
- Open the rear hatch and partially remove the plastic threshold cover and cargo trays.
- Pull back the felt liner to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Remove Taillight Assemblies:
- Using an 8mm socket or wrench, remove the driver’s and passenger’s taillight assemblies.
- Be careful not to break any mounting tabs. Set the taillights aside.
-
Prepare Grommets:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, slit the grommet to allow the T-Connector’s wiring to pass through.
- Optionally, apply silicone sealant to the grommet after installation to prevent environmental intrusion.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire through the slit in the grommet.
- Connect the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Mount the T-One® Black Box:
- Mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-One® Connector harness with cable ties, avoiding areas where the wire could be pinched, cut, or damaged.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® Connector harness containing the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger-side taillight pocket.
- Insert the green wire through the slit in the passenger-side grommet.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector provided.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall all trim panels, cargo trays, and other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
Safety Notes:
- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed stated product ratings.
- Always wear safety glasses and follow all safety precautions during installation.
