Choose a 1-7/8" ball to tow small and u tility trailers. Our hitches come with generous tongue weight ratings for use with cargo racks and other accessories. For our electrical we rely on Tekonsha. Our Trailer wiring kit comes with a 1 year warranty and everything necessary to install the trailer plug wiring. Tekonsha manufactures a wider range of different products for hooking up trailer lights to your Car Truck or SUV. Our connectors work great with boat trailer wiring and utility trailer wiring. Typically those trailers will use the standard 4 flat plug which is what our Wiring Kits offer. If you have an RV Fifth Wheel or any other large type of trailer you will us a 7 pin trailer plug to control your electric trailer brakes. Tekonsha offers 7 pin trailer connector as well. Simply do a search above to see if there is a 7 wire trailer wiring available for hooking up your 7 way. If there is not you can use part number 85343 trailer wiring adapter to convert any 4-Flat into a 7-Way. In addition you will use part number 20506 which will include the rest of wiring needed for electric brake controls. Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire:
- Remove the spare tire and carrier from the vehicle.

Remove Exhaust Pipes:
- Disconnect the clamp and drop the exhaust pipes on dual exhaust models.

Prepare Frame Rail:
- Remove undercoating from attachment surfaces.
- Position the receiver on the vehicle and ensure it is centered.

Clear Rivets (For Some Models):
- For some Chevrolet and GMC units with 6’ beds, grind or file the top of the rivet flush to ensure adequate clearance with the hitch.

Drill Holes:
- Use the receiver as a template to drill 1/2" holes into the frame rails.

Install Fasteners:
- Secure the hitch using the provided fasteners, placing blocks between the frame and hitch where necessary. Tighten all bolts to specified torque values.

Reconnect Exhaust Pipes:
- Reconnect the exhaust pipes to the clamp.

Reinstall Spare Tire:
- If retaining under-box tire storage, modify the spare tire carrier as needed to ensure proper fit.

Locate the Vehicle’s Tail Light Wiring Harness:
- Find the wiring harness along the inside of the left rear frame rail.
- This harness will have a connection point with connectors matching the ends of the T-Connector.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Carefully separate the harness connectors, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Check and clean the mating surfaces of the connectors if necessary.

Install the T-Connector Adapter:
- Insert the T-Connector adapter between the harness connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secured.

Ground the White Wire:
