For our electrical we rely on Tekonsha. Our Trailer wiring kit comes with a 1 year warranty and everything necessary to install the trailer plug wiring. Tekonsha manufactures a wider range of different products for hooking up trailer lights to your Car Truck or SUV. Our connectors work great with boat trailer wiring and utility trailer wiring. Typically those trailers will use the standard 4 flat plug which is what our Wiring Kits offer. If you have an RV Fifth Wheel or any other large type of trailer you will us a 7 pin trailer plug to control your electric trailer brakes. Tekonsha offers 7 pin trailer connector as well. Simply do a search above to see if there is a 7 wire trailer wiring available for hooking up your 7 way. If there is not you can use part number 85343 trailer wiring adapter to convert any 4-Flat into a 7-Way. In addition you will use part number 20506 which will include the rest of wiring needed for electric brake controls. Position Receiver:
- Lift the receiver up to the frame of the vehicle.
- Locate the large holes in the receiver brackets over the rivet heads in the frame.

Install Hex Bolts:
- Place four (4) 1/2” serrated washers over four (4) 12mm hex bolts.
- Insert the bolts up through the receiver brackets and into the weld nuts in the frame.

Install Carriage Bolts:
- Place two (2) bolt plates over two (2) 1/2” carriage bolts.
- Insert the bolts down through the frame and the receiver brackets.
- Secure each bolt with a 1/2” serrated washer and 1/2” lock nut.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque the 12mm bolts to 75 Lb.-Ft.
- Torque the 1/2” nuts to 75 Lb.-Ft.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter
Part Numbers:

Wiring Access Location:
- Underneath the vehicle on the driver’s side near the frame rail and between the bumper and spare tire.
Tools Required:
- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
- Tie wraps (provided).
- 50/50 water-alcohol solution for cleaning.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
-
Temporarily remove the battery hold-down bracket and slide the battery toward the motor to access the area near the fender (Fig. 2).
-
Locate the vehicle’s gray connector between the battery and the fender.
- Remove the cap from the gray connector.
- Install the trailer harness fuse holder connector into the vehicle’s gray connector.
- Tie wrap the gray connector and fuse holder harness to the vehicle’s wiring.
- Return the battery to its original position.
Note: Some vehicles may have a 30-amp trailer harness fuse holder already installed. Remove it and use the yellow fuse holder and 10-amp fuse provided (15-amp maximum fuse allowed).

Route the trailer harness fuse holder wiring to the positive side of the battery.
- Attach the ring terminal to the positive battery post (Fig. 2).

Secure the trailer fuse holder wire with two tie wraps (Fig. 3).

Reinstall the battery hold-down bracket.
- Install the 10-amp fuse into the yellow fuse holder.
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
-
Locate the vehicle’s trailer tow plug under the vehicle near the driver’s side frame rail.
- Remove the cap from the plug.
- Connect the T-Connector harness to the vehicle’s plug (Fig. 4).

Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Clean the truck mounting surface with a 50/50 water-alcohol solution.
- Use the double-sided tape provided to mount the black converter box to the truck’s end sill (Fig. 6).

Secure the T-Connector wire harness to the vehicle’s harness using the provided tie wraps.
