Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Trim Panel:
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove five plastic push rivets from the underside of the driver-side trim panel.
- Carefully remove the trim panel and return it to the owner.

Lower Exhaust:
- Support the exhaust system to avoid damage.
- Using exhaust removal pliers, detach two rubber exhaust hangers—one at the rear and one at the base of the exhaust.

Trim Caulking:
- Using a utility knife, partially remove the caulking from the trunk pan on both sides to create a flatter surface.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the bracket holes with the weldnuts in the vehicle's frame rail.
- Loosely install the M12 bolts and conical washers (teeth side toward hitch).
- Use a wire brush to clean the weldnuts if necessary.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Using a torque wrench, tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N*m).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and secure the hangers.
