Installation Instructions for 2022-Current Kia EV6

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Underbody Panel:
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove 6 plastic push rivets from the bottom of the underbody panel.
- Use a 10 mm socket to remove 3 nuts securing the underbody panel, then set the panel aside.

Trim Underbody Panel and Lower Fascia:
- Locate the center of the underbody panel and mark the area to be trimmed for the receiver. Refer to Figure 2.
- Mark the center of the lower fascia and trim the area to fit the receiver. Refer to Figure 3.
- Note: Ensure that no sensor wires are in the trimming area. Move them if necessary.

Install Hitch:
- Remove any stickers covering the weldnut holes on the frame rail.
- Clean the weldnuts with a wire brush if necessary.
- Position the spacer plates (attached to the hitch) on the frame rail around the weldnut area.
- Carefully raise the hitch into position, ensuring no wiring is damaged.
- Align the attachment holes in the hitch with the spacer and weldnut holes.
- Insert the supplied M12 bolts and conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N*m).

Reinstall Trimmed Underbody Panel:
- Reattach the trimmed underbody panel to the vehicle.
Hardware List:
- (6) Bolt M12 x 1.25 x 50 mm CL10.9
- (6) Conical Washer 1/2"

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Kia EV6

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Rear Hatch:
- Fold down both rear seats and remove the floor covering, cargo trays, and threshold. Take care not to damage any locking tabs or pins.

Access the Vehicle’s Wiring:
- Using a 10mm socket, remove the retaining bolts from both the driver’s and passenger’s side trim panels.
- Remove the retaining screw from behind the rear seat latch release lever on both sides.
-
Expose the Taillight Wiring:
- Pull back the side trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring connectors.

Disconnect the Vehicle Wiring Harness:
- Locate the wiring connectors matching the T-One® Connector harness ends.
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the taillight assemblies on both sides, being careful not to damage any locking tabs.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and securely locked.

Mount the Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remainder of the T-One® Connector harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could cut or pinch the wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the green wire connector along the threshold and behind the passenger’s side trim panel to the taillight pocket area.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and securely locked.

Connect the Power Wire:
- In the cargo area, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting from the rear cargo area on the driver’s side, route the black 12-gauge wire forward through the interior of the vehicle, behind the trim panels, and up under the driver’s side dashboard.

Access the Engine Compartment:
- Locate an existing grommet in the firewall under the dashboard. Carefully slit the grommet and route the black wire into the engine compartment.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Open the front trunk storage compartment and remove the panel over the battery.
- Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector provided.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.
