Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Tie-Down Brackets:

   • If present, remove tie-down brackets and bolts from each side of the vehicle frame. Return to the vehicle owner.
   • For vehicles with a muffler hanger bracket welded to the passenger-side tie-down bracket, reattach the tie-down/muffler hanger with the hitch in Step 3.
   • For vehicles with a muffler hanger bracket bolted to the bottom of the frame rail on the passenger side, remove the bolts attaching the bracket to the frame.

2. Raise Hitch into Position:

   • Raise the hitch into position and install (4) M10 bolts and conical toothed washers as shown in Figure 1.
   • For Two-Bolt Exhaust Hanger Configuration: Install (2) M10 bolts and conical toothed washers supplied with the hitch.
   • For Four-Bolt Exhaust Hanger Configuration: Install (2) existing M10 bolts (retained in Step 1) and (2) M10 bolts and conical toothed washers supplied with the hitch.

3. Optional Weldnut Fastener:

   • If an existing weldnut is present, omit the U-bolt and use the weldnut with the optional fastener.

4. Drill Holes (if required):

   • For vehicles without a weldnut, use the hitch as a template and drill (2) 1/2" holes in the vehicle frame as shown in Figure 1.

5. Install U-Bolt:

   • Insert the U-bolt as shown in Figure 2 and secure it with conical toothed washers and 3/8" hex nuts.

6. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Torque all M10 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N*m).
   • Torque all 3/8"-16 U-bolt nuts to 25 lb-ft (34 N*m).

7. Reinstall Components:

   • For twin-tip exhaust models, increase exhaust clearance by loosening the set screws on each chrome exhaust tip and removing the tips. Return tips to the customer for reinstallation upon hitch removal.

• (1) U-Bolt, 3/8"-16
• (2) Hex Nuts, 3/8"-16
• (6) Conical Toothed Washers, 3/8"
• (5) Hex Bolts, M10 x 1.25 x 30mm CL8.8

Safety Notes:

• Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
• Wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.

Wiring Access Location:

• Inside the trunk, behind the plastic trim panels on both sides.

Tools Required:

• Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
• Screwdriver or trim panel remover.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Access Vehicle Wiring:

   • Remove the plastic trim panels inside the trunk to locate the vehicle’s wiring harness. These harnesses will have connection points matching the T-Connector adapter.

2. Driver's Side Connection:

   • Starting on the driver’s side, separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs.
   • Attach the T-Connector containing the yellow wire between the separated vehicle wiring connectors. Ensure the locking tabs are fully engaged.

3. Passenger's Side Connection:

   • Remove the rear threshold panel inside the trunk to route the T-Connector harness to the passenger side.
   • Repeat the connection process on the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

4. Ground Connection:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
   • Clean the grounding area to remove dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

5. Mounting the Black Box:

   • Secure the black converter box to the vehicle using the provided screw or cable tie.
   • Ensure the converter box is mounted in a location that prevents movement or damage.

6. Testing and Reassembly:

   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer to ensure all connections are functioning properly.
   • Reattach all plastic trim panels, ensuring no wires are pinched or exposed.
