Installation Instructions for Trailer Hitch #76244

- Sockets: 3/4", 14 mm, 17 mm
- 6" Socket Extension
- Exhaust Removal Pliers
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Factory Tow Loop:
- If the vehicle has a factory tow loop, remove it from the passenger-side frame rail using a 14 mm socket to remove the (2) bolts.
- Return the tow loop and bolts to the vehicle owner.
2. Lower Exhaust:
- Detach the exhaust by removing the (2) rubber hangers near the muffler and the (1) hanger just forward of the muffler.
- Note: Use a support to hold the exhaust in place while removing the hangers.
3. Install Fasteners:
- Insert carriage bolts and spacer blocks into the existing holes in the frame rails.
- Ensure the carriage bolts are flush with the inside of the frame rails.
- Driver Side Tip: Insert carriage bolts by reaching between the bumper fascia and above the carbon canister.
4. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning it with the carriage bolts.
- Loosely secure the hitch using 1/2" conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and hex nuts on the carriage bolts.
- Tip: Start with the driver side by guiding the flange around the carbon canister, then raise the passenger side.
5. Install Bolts:
- Loosely install the M10 hex bolts with 7/16" conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) into the weld nuts on the bottom of the frame rails.
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2" GR5 hitch fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all M10 CL8.8 fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m).
7. Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into place and reattach the rubber hangers.
- Tip: Use a soapy water solution to make reinstallation of the hangers easier.

- 4 × Carriage Bolts (1/2"-13 × 4.50", GR5)
- 2 × Spacer Blocks (0.25 × 1.50 × 4.00)
- 4 × Conical Washers (1/2")
- 4 × Hex Nuts (1/2"-13, GR5)
- 2 × Bolts (M10 × 1.25 × 30 mm, CL8.8)
- 2 × Conical Washers (7/16")
Safety Notes:
- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Regularly inspect the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are secure.
- If the hitch is removed, plug any holes in the vehicle's body to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged components, such as the hitch or ball, immediately.
- Never cut access or mounting holes with a torch.
