- Flat Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Taillights:
- Open the tailgate and remove the plastic cover near the taillight by removing (1) plastic rivet with a flat head screwdriver, on both sides.
- Using a 10 mm socket, remove (2) hex nuts holding the taillights on both sides.
- Slide the taillights rearward and unplug the wiring.
2. Remove Fascia:
- Use an 8 mm socket to remove (1) screw holding the fascia below the taillight area, on both sides.
- Remove (8) screws from the bottom fascia with an 8 mm socket.
- Drill out the center of the (3) rearmost plastic rivets holding the wheel well trim on both sides using a 1/8" drill bit. Remove the remaining rivet heads with a panel removal tool.
- Use plastic trim tools to gently remove the lower part of the wheel well trim and expose (2) screws holding the fascia. Remove these screws using an 8 mm socket on both sides.
- Starting at the outer edges near the wheel wells, carefully remove the fascia using plastic trim tools. Disconnect the wiring harness from the fascia and set it aside.
3. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use an 18 mm deep well socket with a 6" extension to remove (4) hex flange nuts holding the bumper beam to the end panel, (2) per side.
4. Remove Plastic Panel Below Bumper Beam:
- Using an 8 mm socket, remove (1) screw from the bottom panel on both sides.
- Unclip the tab with a flat head screwdriver, (1) per side. Disconnect the wiring harness if needed.
- Apply silicone sealant to the hitch if the factory seal is torn.
5. Install Hitch and Bumper Beam:
- Raise the hitch and bumper beam into position, aligning the holes with the studs on the end panel.
- Loosely reinstall the (4) existing M12 hex flange nuts onto the studs in the end panel.
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M12 hex flange nuts to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
7. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall all fasteners, the plastic panel, wiring harness, fascia, wheel well trim, taillights, and plastic cover.
- Install (6) supplied plastic rivets, (3) per side.

- Proper torque is essential to secure the hitch to the vehicle.
- Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are securely tightened.

- Replace any damaged hitch or hitch ball before use.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for BMW X2

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and carefully pry the black taillight trim cover using a trim panel remover to expose the two 10mm taillight fasteners on the driver’s side.
- Remove the two 10mm screws on both driver and passenger sides.
- Gently pull the taillights away from the vehicle, being cautious not to damage the alignment pins. Set the taillight housings aside.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the wiring connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Ensure all connectors are clean and free of dirt.

Mount the T-One® Black Box:
- Determine a suitable mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia on the driver’s side.
- Mount the black box module using the provided double-sided tape.
- Ensure the trailer wire harness has adequate length to reach this point.
Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side facing downward to prevent water accumulation.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the yellow wires through the bumper and vehicle body into the driver-side taillight pocket.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire underneath the bumper to the passenger side.
- Insert the green wire end through the passenger-side opening and connect it between the taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or damage the wires.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury.

Route the Power Wire:
- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire from the T-One® Connector box.
- Attach the provided black wire and route it along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring to the vehicle’s battery.
- Avoid areas that may pinch, cut, or break the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder and attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
Warning: Follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.

Secure the Wiring Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
