Tools Required:

• Ratchet
• Torque Wrench
• Safety Glasses
• Sockets: 18 mm, 19 mm, 3/4", 11/16"
• 6" Socket Extension
• Pliers
• Lubricant or Soapy Water (for exhaust removal)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove the Tow Hook (If Equipped):

• Tow hook must be permanently removed for hitch installation.

2. Lower Exhaust System:

• At the rubber isolator (3 locations), spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator for easier removal.
• Remove rubber isolators from mufflers (2) only, to be reinstalled in Step 8. Be careful not to allow the muffler to fall under its own weight.

3. Install Carriage Bolts on Exhaust Hangers:

• Install carriage bolts (7/16-14 × 2.500) into exhaust hangers on the hitch.
• Reinstall rubber isolators removed in Step 2 onto these carriage bolts.
• Secure with flat washers and hex lock nuts. Tighten until the lock washer begins to flatten.

4. Install Carriage Bolt and Spacer into Passenger Frame Rail:

• Using the reverse pull-wire procedure, feed the 1/2"-13 carriage bolt and spacer into the passenger-side frame rail.
• Leave the pull wire attached.

5. Position the Hitch:

• Feed the pull wire through the hole in the passenger-side hitch bracket.
• Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust and align it with the existing weldnuts in the frame rail and the 1/2"-13 carriage bolt installed in Step 4.
• Secure with M12 hex bolts and conical washers (teeth side against the hitch).

6. Install Hardware on Carriage Bolt:

• Remove the pull wire and install a conical washer and hex nut on the carriage bolt.

7. Torque Fasteners:

• Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m).
• Tighten all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).

8. Reinstall the Exhaust System:

• Raise the exhaust back into position (3 locations).
• Use lubricant or soapy water as needed for reinstallation.

• 1 × Carriage Bolt (1/2"-13 × 1.50, GR5)

• 2 × Carriage Bolt (7/16"-14 × 2.500, GR5)
• 2 × Flat Washer (7/16")
• 2 × Hex Lock Nut (7/16"-14)
• 1 × Pull Wire (1/2"-13)

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Ford Explorer

• Wire Cutters
• Philips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Locate the Vehicle’s Tow-Plug Harness:

   • Underneath the vehicle, on the passenger’s side, locate the tow-plug harness behind the rear tire. Ensure the connectors match the T-One® T-Connector harness.
   • Separate the connector carefully without breaking the locking tabs. All connector surfaces must be clean and free of dirt.

2. Connect the T-One® T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® T-Connector harness into the vehicle’s tow-plug harness and lock it into place.

3. Route and Mount the 7-Way Socket:

   • Determine the 7-Way mounting location. Route the harness containing the 7 wires along the inside of the bumper toward the center of the vehicle and the 7-Way mounting location.
   • Warning: Avoid routing wires near hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

4. Consult the 7-Way Diagram for Wire Locations:

   • Reference the included 7-Way diagram for proper wire locations.

5. Secure the Harness:

   • Use the provided cable ties to secure the remaining harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

6. Test the Installation:

   • Ensure all connections are complete for the T-One® T-Connector to function properly.
   • Reset the vehicle's electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key.
   • Test the installation using a test light or trailer.

   Warning: Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the following ratings:

   • Max. stop/turn light: 10 amps
   • Max. tail lights: 10 amps
   • Max. backup: 10 amps
   • Max. power circuit: 30 amps
   • Max. trailer brakes: 3 axles/6 brakes (20 amps)
