Installation Instructions for Electronic Brake Control (2, 4, 6, & 8 Brake Applications)
Product Information:

Package Contents:

- Mounting Screws (#6 x 3/8") (Qty: 4)
Tools Required:
- Drill with 1/8" drill bit
- Screwdriver or 1/4" Nut Driver
- Wire Stripper/Cutter
- Crimp Tool
- Circuit Tester
- Assorted End Wrenches
Mounting Instructions:

Choose Mounting Location:
- Ensure the location is solid and within easy reach of the driver.
- Verify there is no obstruction behind the mounting panel.

Install the Bracket:
- Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the hole locations.
- Drill two (2) 1/8" holes at the marked positions.
- Secure the bracket using two self-tapping screws.

Install the Brake Control Unit:
- Slide the Brake Control Unit into the bracket.
- Secure it using the remaining two screws.
Wiring Instructions:

Black Wire (Battery +):
- Connect to the positive battery terminal using a 30A auto-reset circuit breaker.

White Wire (Ground -):
- Connect to a clean, bare metal surface on the vehicle chassis.

Red Wire (Stoplight Switch):
- Connect to the cold side of the stoplight switch (voltage present only when the brake pedal is pressed).

Blue Wire (Trailer Brakes):
- Connect to the brake output wire on the trailer’s 7-way connector.
Controls Overview:

Output (Gain) Control:
- Adjusts the maximum braking power delivered to the trailer brakes.
- Range: 0 (minimum) to 10 (maximum).

Sync Control:
- Adjusts the aggressiveness of trailer braking:

Manual Slide Control:
- Manually applies the trailer brakes independent of the vehicle’s braking system.

- Output Display: Shows the gain setting when activated.

Setup and Testing:

Preliminary Adjustment:
- Connect the trailer.
- Press and hold the brake pedal.
- Adjust the Gain Control to approximately 2.0.
- Press the Sync + or – button to set sync to 4°.

- Drive at 25 mph in an open area.
- Use the Manual Slide Control to test the trailer brakes:
- If brakes are weak: Increase the Gain Control.
- If brakes lock up: Decrease the Gain Control.

Fine-Tune the Sync Control:
- For smoother stops: Adjust Sync + for more aggressive braking.
- For less aggressive braking: Adjust Sync –.

- Ensure stops are smooth and firm, without trailer wheel lock-up.
