Tools Required:

• Ratchet
• Torque Wrench

• Sockets: 7 mm, 15 mm, 3/4"
• 6" Socket Extension
• Flat Head Screwdriver
• Plastic Trim Tools
• T15 and T20 Torx Bits

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Fascia (Chevrolet Traverse):

1. Open the tailgate and remove (4) plastic covers below the taillights.
2. Remove the (4) screws behind the covers using a 7 mm socket, (2) per side.
3. Remove (2) screws connecting the bottom edge of the fascia to metal support tabs using a T20 socket.
4. Remove (8) screws connecting the wheel well liner to the fascia using a T15 socket, (4) per side.
5. Pull back the wheel well trim and remove (2) screws connecting the fascia to the vehicle body using a 7 mm socket, (1) per side.
6. Starting from the wheel well, gently pull off the fascia. Disconnect any attached wires.

2. Remove Fascia (Buick Enclave):

1. Using a T15 Torx bit, remove (2) screws from the bottom of the fascia.
2. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove (2) bolt covers, then remove the (2) bolts below the taillight with a 7 mm socket, per side.
3. Use a T20 Torx bit to remove (1) screw below the taillight, per side.
4. Remove (4) screws from the wheel well liner with a T15 Torx bit, per side.
5. Use a 7 mm socket to remove (1) vertically attached bolt under the wheel well liner, per side.
6. Starting from the wheel well, gently pull off the fascia and disconnect any attached wires.

3. Support Exhaust & Remove Bumper Beam:

1. Remove (4) M10 nuts from the top bumper attachments with a 15 mm socket, (2) per side.
2. Remove (4) M10 bolts from the bottom bumper attachments with a 15 mm socket, (2) per side.
3. Support the exhaust system, as the bolts also attach the exhaust hangers.
4. Return the bumper and bolts to the vehicle owner.

4. Install Hitch:

1. Raise the hitch into position over the bumper studs and reinstall the nuts removed earlier.
2. Raise the exhaust hangers into position and install M10 bolts with conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch).
3. Feed carriage bolts and spacers into the vehicle frame through the access hole in the hitch using fish wires.
4. Remove the fish wires and loosely install conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts.

5. Torque Fasteners:

1. Tighten all 1/2" GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
2. Tighten all M10 fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m).

6. Reinstall Fascia:

1. Reinstall the exhaust muffler and fascia.
2. Connect the electrical harness while reinstalling the fascia.

• 4 × Carriage Bolts (1/2"-13 × 1.5", GR5)
• 4 × Spacer Blocks (1/4" × 1" × 2")
• 4 × Conical Washers (1/2")
• 4 × Hex Nuts (1/2"-13, GR5)
• 4 × Bolts (M10 × 1.5 × 45 mm, CL10.9)
• 4 × Conical Washers (3/8")
• 4 × Fish Wires (1/2")

Safety Notes:

• Always wear safety glasses during installation.
• Proper torque is essential to secure the hitch to the vehicle.
• Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are secure.
• Plug any exposed holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or hitch ball before use.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for Trailer Tow Harness for Chevrolet Traverse

• Trim Panel Remover
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Locate the Tow Plug Harness:

   • Underneath the vehicle on the driver’s side, locate the tow plug.
   • Disconnect the protective cover and discard it.
   • Connect the tow plug harness into the mating harness. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.
   • Be careful not to damage the locking tabs, and ensure connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

2. Install the 7-Way Socket:

   • Plug the 7-way socket (provided) into the Trailer Tow Harness.
   • Route the 7-Way to the center of the vehicle and mount it in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
   • Secure the remaining tow harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could pinch or cut the wire.

3. Test the Installation:

   • Verify that all connections are complete for the tow harness to function properly.
   • Test and verify the installation using a test light or trailer.
   • Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

   Warning:

   • Avoid routing wires near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or any areas that could pinch or damage the wire.
   • Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the stated product ratings. Refer to the vehicle’s owner’s manual for additional information.
