Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Trunk:

   • Remove the threshold panel.
   • Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

2. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On the driver’s side, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
   • Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
   • Check that the mating surfaces of the vehicle harness connectors match the T-Connector ends. Clean all connectors to remove dirt.

3. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Attach the T-Connector end containing the yellow and brown wires to the driver’s side taillight wiring harness.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with the locking tabs in place.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector end containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
   • Repeat step 3 for the passenger’s side, using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Mount the Black Box:

   • Locate a flat surface on the driver’s side and mount the T-Connector’s black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.

6. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or crossmember. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
   • Clean the grounding area to remove dirt and rustproofing. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

   • Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Locate the red 12-gauge power wire from the T-Connector box on the driver’s side.
   • Attach the provided black 12-gauge wire to the red wire using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or the vehicle thresholds to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that could pinch or break the wire.

   Warning:

   • Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or the fuel tank.

8. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Attach the ring terminal of the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
   • Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Secure the Wiring:

   • Use the provided cable ties to secure the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

10. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace the trunk liner, threshold panel, and any other components removed during installation.

11. Test the Installation:

    • Test and verify the T-Connector functionality using a test light or trailer.
    • Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

    Specifications:

    • Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
