Installation Instructions for 2020-Current Mazda CX-30

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Bottom Bracket Attachment:
- Use a 10 mm socket to remove 1 bolt from the bottom bracket attachment on each side.
- Use a flat head screwdriver to remove 3 rivets from the attachment.
- Press the bracket inward to release it from the plastic tab attached to the frame rails.
- Return the bracket attachment and hardware to the vehicle owner.

Lower Exhaust:
- Using exhaust removal pliers, lower the exhaust by removing 4 rubber hangers (2 on each end of the muffler).
- Ensure the exhaust is supported before removing the hangers.
- Apply spray lubricant or soapy water to the rubber hangers for easier removal.

Enlarge Vehicle Frame Access Holes:
- Peel off the sticker on the access hole if present.
- Use a die grinder to enlarge the access hole to a 1-inch diameter on each side.

Install Hitch:
- Feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the access holes using pull wires, leaving the pull wires attached.
- Raise the hitch into position and feed the pull wires through the hitch bracket slot.
- Remove the pull wires and loosely install the conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and hex nuts onto the hitch.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Using a torque wrench, tighten all 7/16" fasteners to 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Reattach the exhaust using the rubber hangers removed earlier.

- (4) Spacer 0.875" x 2.00" x 0.109"

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Bottom Bracket Attachment:

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Mazda CX-30

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the threshold panel.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Access the Taillight Wiring Connectors:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, remove the bracket’s front mounting clip and slide the bracket forward to unlock.
- Pull the bracket back to access the vehicle’s taillight wiring connectors.
-
Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted, and the locking tabs are securely engaged.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or damage the wires.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the connector with the green wire along the threshold to the passenger side, behind the panels.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locked securely into place.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge power wire along the frame rail to the rear of the vehicle.
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other areas that could damage the wire.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Connect the black power wire to the black wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, floor covering, and any other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector through the driver’s side trim panel into the storage compartment on the threshold and store it when not in use.
