Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Bottom Bracket Attachment:

   • Use a 10 mm socket to remove 1 bolt from the bottom bracket attachment on each side.
   • Use a flat head screwdriver to remove 3 rivets from the attachment.
   • Press the bracket inward to release it from the plastic tab attached to the frame rails.
   • Return the bracket attachment and hardware to the vehicle owner.

2. Lower Exhaust:

   • Using exhaust removal pliers, lower the exhaust by removing 4 rubber hangers (2 on each end of the muffler).
   • Ensure the exhaust is supported before removing the hangers.
   • Apply spray lubricant or soapy water to the rubber hangers for easier removal.

3. Enlarge Vehicle Frame Access Holes:

   • Peel off the sticker on the access hole if present.
   • Use a die grinder to enlarge the access hole to a 1-inch diameter on each side.

4. Install Hitch:

   • Feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the access holes using pull wires, leaving the pull wires attached.
   • Raise the hitch into position and feed the pull wires through the hitch bracket slot.
   • Remove the pull wires and loosely install the conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and hex nuts onto the hitch.

5. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Using a torque wrench, tighten all 7/16" fasteners to 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m).

6. Reinstall Exhaust:

   • Reattach the exhaust using the rubber hangers removed earlier.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Mazda CX-30

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• Wire Crimpers
• Wire Cutters
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open the Trunk:

   • Remove the threshold panel.
   • Partially remove the felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

2. Access the Taillight Wiring Connectors:

   • On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, remove the bracket’s front mounting clip and slide the bracket forward to unlock.
   • Pull the bracket back to access the vehicle’s taillight wiring connectors.

3. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted, and the locking tabs are securely engaged.

4. Mount the Black Box:

   • Mount the T-One® Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
   • Secure the remaining harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or damage the wires.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
   • Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.

   Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the connector with the green wire along the threshold to the passenger side, behind the panels.

7. Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locked securely into place.

8. Route the Power Wire:

   • Starting from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge power wire along the frame rail to the rear of the vehicle.
   • Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other areas that could damage the wire.

9. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Connect the black power wire to the black wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

10. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

    • Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
    • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
    • Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

11. Reconnect the Battery and Test:

    • Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
    • Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

12. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, floor covering, and any other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

13. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Route the 4-flat connector through the driver’s side trim panel into the storage compartment on the threshold and store it when not in use.
