Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Taillights:
- Open the liftgate and remove two screws from each taillight using a 10 mm socket.
- Gently slide the taillights rearward to remove them, unplug the connectors, and set aside.

Remove Screws from Liftgate Area:
- Use a 10 mm socket to remove four screws from the fascia in the liftgate area.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove two additional screws from the same area.

Remove Splash Guards (if present):
- Use a 10 mm socket to remove four screws from each splash guard.
- Remove two plastic push rivets located at the bottom of the fascia near the muffler.

Partially Remove Wheel Well Trim:
- Remove four plastic push rivets from each side of the wheel well area.
- Use a plastic trim tool to gently pry the wheel well trim away from the fascia.
- Tip: Pull the wheel well liner out of the way and reach inside to release the tabs securing the trim.

Remove Fascia:
- Remove one plastic push rivet located behind the wheel well trim on each side.
- Starting from the wheel well area, gently pull the fascia away from the vehicle using a plastic trim tool.
- Disconnect any electrical connectors.

Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 13 mm socket to remove eight M8 bolts (four per side) attaching the bumper beam to the end panel.
- Return the bumper beam and bolts to the vehicle owner.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning its attachment holes with the weldnuts in the end panel.
- Loosely install the supplied M8 bolts and conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) into the weldnuts (four per side).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M8 fasteners to 20 ft-lbs (27 N*m).

Trim Fascia:
- Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, measure, mark, and trim the fascia in the center area to accommodate the hitch.
- Ensure there are no wires or sensors in the area before cutting.
- Note: Dimensions are approximate.

Reinstall Fascia:
- Reinstall the fascia in reverse order of removal.
- Reconnect any electrical connectors removed earlier.

Reinstall Splash Guards and Taillights:
- Reinstall the splash guards and taillights using the fasteners removed earlier.
- Ensure all electrical connectors are reconnected.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
