- Wrenches: 11/16", (2) 3/4"
- Drill Bits: 3/8” or 1” Hole Saw or Cutting Tool
Specifications:
- Max Gross Trailer Weight: 2,000 lb. (908 kg)
- Max Tongue Weight: 200 lb. (90.8 kg)
- Note: Do not exceed the towing vehicle manufacturer’s rating.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Fascia Tabs:
- Remove the two (2) plastic rivets fastening the fascia tabs to the trunk pan.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the rivet centers and then the remaining pieces. Retain rivets for reinstallation.
- Push the fascia toward the impact bar.

Enlarge Access Hole:
- Enlarge the forward access hole or drill a 1” hole in the bottom of the passenger-side frame rail between the attachment holes for bolts and spacers.
- Paint any exposed metal to prevent corrosion.
-
Feed Bolts and Spacers:
- Use the pull wires to feed spacers and carriage bolts into position. Leave pull wires attached for alignment.
-
Adjust Heat Shield:
- Gently pull the heat shield away from the end panel to create space for the hitch's upright bar. Use masking tape to cover sharp edges on the shield.
-
Hang U-Bolt on Tow Hook:
- Attach the U-bolt to the tow hook as shown in the diagram.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position at the tow hook. Maneuver the upright bar between the end panel and behind the heat shield.
- Attach using a flat washer, lock washer, and hex nut. Tighten fasteners slightly.

Secure Passenger-Side Bracket:
- Feed pull wires through the slots in the passenger-side bracket.
- Shift the bracket into position and pull fasteners through the bracket. Remove one pull wire at a time and install a conical washer and hex nut.

Install Bolt Through Spacer:
- Insert the 1/2”-13 bolt into the spacer. From behind the end panel, insert the bolt through the panel hole and the upright bar slot.
- Attach a conical washer and hex nut. Align the spacer as shown.

Tighten All Fasteners:
- Tighten fasteners to the following specifications:
- 3/8”-16 fasteners: 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N*M)
- 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners: 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)
- 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners: 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
- Tighten fasteners to the following specifications:

Reattach Components:
- Reinstall the fascia and push the heat shield back into its original position.
