Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower Exhaust:

   • Detach the exhaust from the two rubber isolators using exhaust removal pliers.
   • Spray lubricant on the isolators to ease removal.

2. Install Driver-Side Hardware:

   • Insert the 7/16" carriage bolt and spacer into the driver-side frame rail using the pull wire procedure.
   • Leave the pull wire attached at this time.

3. Raise Hitch:

   • Position the hitch under the vehicle, feeding the pull wire through the attachment slot on the driver-side of the hitch.

4. Secure Hitch with U-Bolt:

   • Hang the U-bolt around the tow hook and through the chain plate holes behind the receiver.
   • Install the 3/8" flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. Center the hitch on the vehicle.

5. Secure Driver-Side Bolt:

   • Feed the 7/16" conical washer over the pull wire to hold the bolt in place.
   • Remove the pull wire and attach the 7/16" hex nut.

6. Install Passenger-Side Handle Nut:

   • Bend approximately 1/2" of the handle nut downward using pliers for easier installation.
   • Insert the handle nut through the access hole in the passenger-side frame rail.
   • Align it with the attachment slot in the passenger-side hitch bracket.
   • Install the 1/2" hex bolt and conical washer (teeth side against the hitch) through the side bracket, frame rail, and into the handle nut.

7. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Tighten the fasteners to the following torque specifications:
     • 7/16"-14 fasteners: 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m)
     • 1/2"-13 fasteners: 50 ft-lbs (68 N*m)
     • 3/8"-16 fasteners: 30 ft-lbs (41 N*m)

8. Adjust Exhaust Clearance:

   • Bend the exhaust hanger spears downward by 1/2" to provide additional muffler clearance.
   • Reattach the exhaust by reconnecting the rubber isolators.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Honda HR-V

Part Numbers:

Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• 1/4” Socket
• Wire Crimpers
• Wire Cutters
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

   • Open the rear tailgate and remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays.
   • Set aside all removed parts carefully to avoid damage.

2. Remove Interior Trim Panels:

   • Partially remove the lower interior trim panels on the driver’s side. Be cautious not to damage clips.

3. Locate Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On the driver’s side, locate the taillight wiring harness with a connection point matching the ends of the T-Connector.
   • Separate the connector carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces.

4. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors.
   • Ensure connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

5. Route and Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger side.
   • Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

6. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury.

7. Mount the Black Box Module:

   • Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface and mount the T-One® T-Connector’s black box to prevent damage or rattling.

8. Connect the Power Wire:

   • From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector’s black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or existing wiring to the engine compartment.
   • Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other hazardous areas.

9. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
   • Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
   • Warning: Follow all warnings and cautions on the tow vehicle’s battery.

10. Secure the Wiring Harness:

    • Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and other components removed during installation.
    • Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

12. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

    • Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.

Specifications:

• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (4.2 amps)
• Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
