Installation Instructions for Ford Ranger (2019-Present)

Installation Time:

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Lower Spare Tire:
- Follow the vehicle owner’s manual to lower the spare tire.
2. Secure Bumper Tabs:
- Use C-Clamps to secure the bumper tabs to the matching tabs directly above on both sides. This prevents the bumper from moving when removing the factory M16 fasteners.
3. Remove Factory Bolts:
- Use a 21mm socket to remove (4) M16 bolts securing the bumper brackets to the vehicle frame.
4. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the attachment holes in the hitch with the holes in the bumper bracket and frame rail.
- Reinstall the factory M16 bolts on each side.
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M16 fasteners to 146 lb-ft (195 N·m).
6. Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Raise the spare tire back into position.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners to ensure the hitch and ball mount are securely attached.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other panels to prevent water or exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
