Installation Instructions for 2021-Current Genesis GV80

Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- Torque Wrench
- Safety Glasses
- Sockets: 10 mm, 18 mm

- Channellock Pliers
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Exhaust Removal Pliers

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Exhaust Bezels:
- Using a 10 mm socket, remove two flange nuts from the bottom of the exhaust bezels on both sides.
- Remove the exhaust bezels and keep them for reinstallation.

Lower Exhaust Muffler:
- Using exhaust removal pliers and soapy water, remove the rubber hangers at two locations.
- Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before removing the rubber hangers.
- Gently pull the bumper fascia rearward to lower the exhaust.

Remove Foam Pads:
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove two foam pads from the side frame rails on both sides.

Install Hitch:
- Use Channellock pliers to slightly bend the end of the rod located behind the end panel outward on both sides.
- Clean the weldnuts behind the removed foam pads using a wire brush.
- Raise the hitch into position and align it with the weldnut locations.
- Loosely install the M12 bolts and 1/2” conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Using a torque wrench, tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N*m).

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the exhaust muffler and exhaust bezels.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Hyundai Genesis

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Hatch:
- Locate and remove trim panels covering the taillights.
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the mounting screws on both driver’s and passenger’s taillights.
- Carefully remove the trim panels, ensuring not to damage the mounting tabs.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- Set the taillights aside, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Underneath the vehicle, route the harness containing the yellow wire up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
- For ease of installation, use a fish wire to pull the harness through.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt before locking them into place.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia on the passenger’s side.
- Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape, ensuring the epoxy side faces downward to prevent water accumulation.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the grounding area before securing.
Caution: Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness containing the green wire underneath the vehicle up through the opening between the rear fascia and body to the passenger’s side taillight pocket.
- Use a fish wire for easier routing.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and securely locked in place.

Access the Rear Battery Area:
- Remove the rear cargo area threshold, cargo trays, and other trim panels to access the battery.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the provided ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
- Route the black 12-gauge wire through a slit in the floor grommet and seal with silicone after routing.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the power wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the yellow butt connector provided.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all trim panels, thresholds, and other components removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Secure the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
- When towing, pull the connector out and route it carefully to avoid pinching in the door latch.
